After 3hrs 30 mins on the road from Monaco, all of it spent at 5000 revs the EFG crew arrived safely in Turin, albeit with ears ringing! The close ratio gearbox of the Fulvia is definitely not suited to long motorway legs. But at least it was shorter than the leg south from Glasgow to Dover last year.
Talking of Glasgow starters, team mate Capt. Zac arrived in Calais without problem but the Aussies in the Trusty Turbo were last heard with clutch issues near Warrington. Fingers crossed they get it sorted and make it to Calais.
Turin is officially the land of cheap beer and cheaper pizza so after partaking heavily of both we stuck in a 12 hour sleep. But even by refusing to acknowledge the World until 10am, it'll still be 30+ hours before our heads hit the pillow again.
The car passed scrutineering without issue but the strong wind here in Turin made application of the stickers pretty tough!!
First car leaves in 1 hour as we head first up to Sestrieres where they are talking about it being -20 degrees tonight. Then on into France where there were heavy falls of snow last night... Officially we are due away from here at 19.55 and into Monaco tomorrow at 16.45 so 21 hours in the car...
At least, unlike one French crew have a roof over our heads!!
Worryingly a lot of the serious crews have their studded tyres fitted already while ours are looking pretty on the roof..
